Fading History
Narrator:
Thus ends the story of the Burgundian house.
The forth duke who nearly became king, led his house instead into his doom.
Died with no son, his land scattered amongst allies and enemies.
But his great-grandson Charles V., who was named after him,
achieved what Charles never accomplished:
He became King of the Romans, King of Italy and Holy Roman Emperor.
But at the end this is only fading history …
